Michael Beasley plays on the Phoenix Suns basketball team in the Forward position. He was arrested by the Scottsdale police and is accused of marijuana possession. Beasley just joined the Phoenix Suns basketball team last year. After joining the Suns, he assured the team and the fans that he would not have anymore problems with marijuana and that the drug was not a factor in his life anymore. Beasley was arrested Tuesday after a traffic stop. In Beasley’s Mercedes, a police officer found three cigarettes and suspected that they might contain marijuana. The arresting officer noticed that the vehicle smelled like marijuana during the stop. Beasley has been cited for one felony count each of marijuana possessions and possession of drug paraphernalia. Beasley has been released from jail. Police are still investigating the case and the court is waiting for the results of lab tests. Court proceedings will begin once the lab tests are complete. In the past, Beasley has been ticketed for marijuana possession. He also has received treatment from a substance rehabilitation facility after violating the NBA’s drug policy twice. Beasley signed a three year contract worth $18 million with the Phoenix Suns last year. Beasley was the No. 2 overall draft pick by Miami in 2008.Google+
