Knicks fans, the world over, should cover your eyes as one of your own is going down in a blaze of bullets for his involvement in a weapons charge. The charge sprung up for Raymond Felton, the world class basketball guard for the New York Knickerbockers, after his bedraggled bride filed divorce charges, soon after instructing her lawyer to turn in a firearm owned by Felton. Soon after turning in the weapon, Raymond Felton was remanded into custody for his possession of the firearm.
The reason he was remanded to police custody was due to the fact that Raymond Felton hadn’t registered that particular firearm in the state of New York. New York requires all residents owning a firearm to register their weapons. Failure to do so is a crime as Raymond Felton has now found out. Felton has been charged with a criminal possession of a firearm and a criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.
Felton voluntarily turned himself in to authorities and went before a presiding judge who set his bond at $25,000. After the hearing, Felton was seen leaving the courthouse in a black hooded sweatshirt and rolling in a Cadillac Escalade. He refused comment from the media who were drilling him over the case.Google+
